The Walking Dead è una serie tv in sei episodi da un'ora basata sul fumetto di Robert Kirkman pubblicato da Image Comics in USA e in Italia da Saldapress. Kirkman è anche produttore esecutivo della serie mentre sceneggiatura, regia e produzione esecutiva sono di Frank Darabont (Il Miglio Verde, Le Ali della Libertà, tre volte candidato all'Oscar). Produttori esecutivi sono anche Gale Anne Hurd (Terminator, Aliens, Armageddon, L'Incredible Hulk), presidente di Valhalla Motion Pictures, David Alpert della Circle of Confusion e Charles "Chic" Eglee (Dexter, The Shield, NYPD Blue).
