Nel corso della notte sono stati assegnati gli Annie Awards, che come ogni anno premiano le eccellenze nel campo della cinematografia animata: com'era facilmente pronosticabile questa edizione è stata dominata da Spider-Man: Un Nuovo Universo, che ha portato a casa ben sette riconoscimenti.

L'opera di Bob Perischietti, Peter Ramsey e Rodney Rothman ha vinto, tra gli altri premi, quelli per la miglior sceneggiatura, il miglior montaggio e la miglior regia in un lungometraggio animato, che hanno portato di conseguenza alla consegna di quello per il miglior lungometraggio animato dell'anno. Fra gli altri vincitori anche Mirai dello Studio Chizu e Gli Incredibili 2.
