In Into the Forest le giovani sorelle Nell ed Eva, in un imminente futuro, rimangono vittima come tutta la popolazione mondiale di un'improvvisa mancanza di elettricità, catastrofe energetica per la quale non sembra trovarsi soluzione. Le due ragazze vivono in una casa isolata nella foresta con il padre vedovo fino a quando anche il genitore non perde la vita per un banale incidente; impossibilitate a comunicare con il mondo esterno e a corto di carburante per raggiungere il più vicino luogo abitato, Nell ed Eva dovranno ingegnarsi per sopravvivere potendo contare soltanto l'una sull'altra.
